Malawi October 2019
In October our team visited the Hands on Africa orphanage and seminary in Malawi.
Seminary
Malawi Theological Seminary with 390 students in attendance.
In partnership with Kennedy Kamanga (one of our Masters graduates who is also lecturing in the seminary) we launched an outreach program in Malawi. Kennedy motivated his church to do evangelism training and then go to villages to share the gospel during the month of September. 1820 people prayed to receive Christ as their Savior during these outreaches. Kennedy reports: “ The church now has an incredible passion for sharing the Gospel. I can’t thank God enough for using HOA to build me up and to open my eyes mission-wise. Hands on Africa has impacted my life greatly.”
Harry Kaitano is an inspiration to many. He is 78 years old, and started his Bachelors Degree in Theology in January 2010. At that time Harry was already a pastor who was overseeing about 700 churches. When we asked him why he was doing his theological studies at that age, he replied: “What I learn here, I pass on to the pastors whom I oversee and are not able to come to the seminary.” Yet at the time when he started at the seminary, he slept on the floor with all the other students, regardless of his age and position. Harry graduated with his Masters in January 2019 and is now one of our lecturers in the Malawi Seminary. What an example of dedication and humility, his love for the Lord and others shines through him.
