About us
Currently, Hands on Africa serves the people in rural areas in Kenya, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa. However with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and support of the community of faith, we desire to reach the "unreached" in other areas. In May 2011 we had our first official outreach in North America with a team from Africa.
Our Vision is that the last command of our Lord will be our first concern and in order to fulfil this vision we need to live Christ to those in need by providing in their basic needs such as taking care of orphans and widows, offer water supply, education and health care.
Current ministries include:
Bible Seminaries - In partnership with Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary we have established Theological seminaries and learning centres in Kenya, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Uganda, Zwaziland and South Africa with over 1500 students and a waiting list of over 600 applicants.
Orphanages – Our mission is to feed, clothe, educate and meet the medical needs of the 196 orphans in our care in Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, South Africa and Sierra Leone.
Primary Schools – We have primary schools in Malawi and Zambia and we are raising funds to open a home school for all the children in our orphanage in Sierre Leone.
Church Planting - To date over 650 churches have been planted and more than 20 000 Bibles have been distributed. Our emphasis is on responsible evangelism and discipleship of those coming to Christ.
Evangelistic Outreaches - Includes open air rallies, prison, hospital and school visitation and orphanage vacation bible schools.
Expressive Worship Team – The Mahanaim expressive worship team affiliated with Hands on Africa travels all over the world to intercede and share the gospel through the gift of music and dance to the people.
Health Center with Maternity ward – The Reusse Troyer Health Centre in Kenya provides FREE health care, medicine and maternity care. Over 700 babies have been born since we opened our maternity ward in October 2008 with a zero mortality rate at birth.
Eye Clinics – Over 3700 patients have been examined and over 3000 pairs of eyeglasses have been issued and fitted for FREE. Every patient was counselled with more than 1000 making a first time commitment to Christ.
Widow Care Center – Our widow care centre in Kenya provides a home to abandoned widows where they are helped to restore their dignity and self-worth through special programs and daily Bible studies.
Water supply – To date we have done 20 water wells, an underground storage tank and 16 water tanks with gutters.
Bible Distribution – We have distributed over 20 000 Bibles.
Women Enrichment – Reaching women for Christ and teaching them that they are valuable and can impact their society. At the conferences we encourage women to put on their robes of righteousness and wear their forgiveness as a crown.
Farming Development Program – We create jobs, generate revenue and develop skills for the surrounding villagers by involving them in the planting of crops and growing of Macadamia trees in Malawi and Moringa, Chicken, pigs, Bee and vegetable farming in Zambia.
Baseball – In March 2010 we introduced baseball to schools in Kenya – we currently reach 5500 children in 12 different schools, teaching coaches and umpires, reaching the remote areas of Migori.
