Currently, Hands on Africa serves the people in rural areas in Kenya, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Burundi, Zambia, Eswatini and South Africa. However with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and support of the community of faith, we desire to reach the "unreached" in other areas. In May 2011 we had our first official outreach in North America with a team from Africa.
Our Vision is that the last command of our Lord will be our first concern and in order to fulfil this vision we need to live Christ to those in need by providing in their basic needs such as taking care of orphans and widows, offer water supply, education and health care.
Our mission is to feed, clothe, educate and meet the medical needs of the 160 orphans in our care in Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, South Africa and Sierra Leone. We offer feeding programs and Vacation Bible School in other countries such as Burundi.
In partnership with Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary we have established Theological seminaries and learning centres in Kenya, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Uganda, Zwaziland and South Africa with over 1500 students and a waiting list of over 600 applicants.
Our main focus is rural areas in Africa. But we go wherever God leads us. Currently, Hands on Africa serves the people in rural areas in Kenya, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Eswatini, Burundi, Zambia and South Africa.
We have partners in other areas of the world including Mexico and Philippines.
Education and skills development play an important role in developing rural regions. Skills are central to improving employability and livelihood opportunities, reducing poverty, enhancing productivity and promoting environmentally sustainable development. We have partnered with the Life Abundantly project that provides clean water, seeds and fertilizer and training for increased crops and safe hygiene practices in rural areas.
Eradicating poverty by equipping communities to provide sustainable food resources and income security for themselves. We have partnered with the Life Abundantly project that provides seeds and fertilizer and training for increased crops.
Children in rural areas spend up to 6 hours per day searching for water, often missing school and the chance to learn. We are passionate about making water accessible to rural Africa. To date we have built 20 water wells, an underground storage tank and 16 water tanks with gutters.
To date over 650 churches have been planted and more than 20 000 Bibles have been distributed. Our emphasis is on responsible evangelism and discipleship of those coming to Christ. Evangelistic Outreaches includes open air rallies, prison, hospital and school visitation and orphanage vacation bible schools.
Reaching women for Christ and teaching them that they are valuable and can impact their society. At the conferences we encourage women to put on their robes of righteousness and wear their forgiveness as a crown. Our widow care centre in Kenya provides a home to abandoned widows where they are helped to restore their dignity and self-worth through special programs and daily Bible studies.
