Farm Development
Although the agricultural sector drives the economies of many African countries, rural communities are often neglected, providing limited to no resources or help.
Many of these groups remain vulnerable to extreme weather conditions, food insecurity, and poor nutrition. We work with these rural communities to help them grow sustainable crops that provide food and income to the community.
It started in Malawi, where we started plangint Macadamia Nut trees. Hands on Africa has been involved in Farm development in Malawi for years with the Grace Farm development program in Namwera, Malawi. Lyson Daude is the local farm manager and we partner with Stitching Raise from Holland who took responsibility for the Grace Farming program in Malawi. 8500 Macadamia nut trees have been planted with 19000 in the nursery be planted.
Every year Soya beans are planted by the locals and harvested to provide an income for the families in the surrounding villages.
After seeing the lasting impact this project has had on the community we branched out into several other countries.

In Zambia we have we have planted 1 hectare of Pine trees which will be used for timber.

In Sierra Leone rice and cassava plants were planted to provide food for the community.
