Carol Orphanage - Kenya
We currently have 37 orphans in Carol’s Orphanage, some of them are attending High School, a privilege for less than 40% of African children.
When we visit the orphanage, we are always greeted by smiling faces and singing voices! These kids are so grateful for every little thing they receive, whether it’s a piece of candy, a toy, new clothing or shoes, it’s appreciated equally. But most of all – it’s the presence of the team visiting that is valued the most. One of the new boys clung to one of the team members, begging her please not to leave. Who knows how many times in his 12 years did he have to say goodbye to people who gave him a little bit of love and attention?
Samson (11) never knew his parents, he was found wandering around the village by a neighbor who took him in when he was still a little boy. They could never afford to send him to school and now brought him to the orphanage. I explained to them that they are not orphans anymore, but now have more than 100 brothers and sisters all over Africa, a mother, father, aunts and uncles! It is a privilege to have them as part of our family.
